Andrew Cornell Robinson is an American artist based in New York City. He was born in 1968 in Camden, New Jersey.

Robinson is best known for his artwork that spans various media from ceramics and painting to photography and sculptural installations. He became known in the New York art world in the 1990s and 2000s, often associated with bridging eccentric, socio-political content with craft and assemblage materials .[2]

Andrew Cornell Robinson exhibited with galleries such as Anna Kustera Gallery and Paul Sharpe Projects in New York, Eyelevel BQE Gallery in Brooklyn and museums such as the Baltimore Contemporary Museum and the Aldrich Museum of Art. His work has been featured in presentations by the Craft Council of the United Kingdom,[3] Clay in the East at the Virginia Commonwealth University and the American Center for Design in Chicago. He has written on art for Sculpture Magazine, The Gay City News, Sculpture Magazine and ArtCat. His work is in both private and public collections. He was a founding member of the board of directors of the Foucault Society in the United States.[4] Robinson studied at the Maryland Institute College of Art, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1991. He then studied at the School of Visual Arts in New York City, earning an MFA degree in 1994. He has received awards from Cannes [5] for digital media work and fellowships from The Edward Albee Foundation in 2010.[6]

His work has been the subject of reviews and essays by Frank Holliday, Hrag Vartanian and Zane Wilson. Wilson wrote about Robinson's work "Andrew Robinson’s work overlaps themes of multiple cultures, sexual identity, absence of historical presence, political awareness executed through careful nods to art history through genuine invention of beautifully crafted objects." [7]

He has been a visiting artist at CUNY, Cooper Union's summer program, and he has taught with Brooklyn College, The New School, and Parsons School of Design.[8]
